Swedish injection moulder Rosti has unveiled plans to expand its production facility in Bia?ystok, in Poland’s eastern part, reports local news site Bialystokonline.pl.
The investment, estimated to be worth PLN 23.9m (€5.4m), will be carried out by the company’s local offshoot Rosti Bianor sp. z o.o. The contract to build a new production hall and storage facility fitted with a total floorspace of some 14,000 square metres was awarded to Polish construction company Unibep S.A., one of the country’s largest firms in this sector.
Under the plan, construction work is to begin this June, and the investment will be completed by the end of November 2016.
Rosti acquired Polish-Dutch joint venture Bianor Polska sp. z o.o. in 2015 along with the company’s production facility in Ploiesti, in Romania’s southern part.
The plant in Bia?ystok makes plastic components for companies active in the electronics and household appliances industry. It is fitted with 89 injection moulding machines enabled with a clamping force ranging between 25 and to 1000 tonnes, according to data released by the manufacturer. The company says that its clients include Philips, Brita, Bosch-Siemens, Vorwerk, Makita and Newell Rubbermaid.
The Polish factory is ISO 9001, 14001, TS 16949 and OHSAS 18001 certified. Rosti launched its first production facility in the Polish market in 1999.
