German car parts manufacturer IDEAL Automotive inaugurated a new interior moulded components production plant near Zielona Góra in western Poland last month.
The 20,000m2 facility, located on an 8 ha site in Nowy Kisielin area of the Kostrzyn-S?ubice Special Economic Zone, is the company’s first Polish unit and will employ initially a 250-strong workforce. It is the firm’s 16th manufacturing plant worldwide.
As part of a €5.1m investment, Bamberg, Germany-based IDEAL Automotive intends to install three new production lines including hydraulic and heated hydraulic presses, water jet cutting equipment, and a pneumatic press.
At the plant’s 8,652m2 production hall, Ideal is reported to be manufacturing moulded interior lining components including car rear shelves and seat panels.

IDEAL group manufactures a range of finished and semi-finished products such as textile linings, sound insulation mouldings, nonwoven parts and plastic coating components for vehicle interiors and external wheel arch linings. These include injection moulded polypropylene and ABS injection moulded coating parts.
Its Poland project will involve investment totalling €5.1m which will be made in coming months to cover the plant equipping and completion by the end of 2018. IDEAL plans further expansion there with an eventual workforce of up to 800 employees.
IDEAL Automotive customers include BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo, Porsche, McLaren, Lamborghini and Volkswagen.
The German group, which has other plants in Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Mexico and China, currently employs a total of more than 4,000. In 2016, IDEAL achieved an annual turnover of €390m.
